So I finally finished college at Gwinnett Tech and we had or portfolio show, which was amazing! It’s crazy to think that I am done with school, and that I graduated with an associate degree in commercial photography! WOW!! Since I’ve been done with school I’ve just been hanging out and doing stuff around my house that got neglected the past 3 months. My husband got me a job to take some pictures of these HUGE doors that they were putting in at one of his job sites. The doors came all the way from Ohio and is reclaimed lumber from a house build back in the 1800s! It was very cool watching them bring the doors in and putting them on the track.  If you check out my Flickr you can see my Favorite images from that shoot!

Here is the front and back of my business card. My teachers wanted me to change them a little from the original that I gave them. Here is the final product. Tell me what you think! I was trying to go simple, no pictures because then I would have to change them all the time.

Here is one of the three 3D images I turned in for the portfolio show in september! I think they all came out good and my teacher really liked them! you’ll have to come to the show at Art station on september 11th! hope to see ya there!!

It’s the last quarter of the photography program at Gwinnett Tech. This quarter is going to be crazy. We have so much to do before our portfolio show on September 11. This quarter we are taking photo business management and portfolio. We have to finish our portfolios and print large prints for the show. We are also getting everything ready for the show at art station in stone mountain. I’ve been working on our first assignment which was to create a 3D image for our 3D show at art station. I had a hard time trying to decide what I wanted to shoot for this assignment. I think both came out pretty cool and cant wait to see what everyone else has done.

Since I’ve been back from Colorado I’ve been working on architecture. It’s a lot harder than I thought. Our first assignment was finding a condo, apartment building, town houses, or low-rise, It took a couple of house to find a place that would work that didn’t have cars or trees blocking important information. then came the real challenge making the building straight in the 4×5 camera. I couldn’t shoot the building straight on so I had to shoot from an angel which made it even harder. Using the 90 lens on the 4×5 camera is so hard to look through, it’s very dark. and in the end my town house I shoot  was not straight and I’m going to re shoot it. I’ve already found two buildings that would work great and be easier. I’m going to pick up film for my 3rd and 4th assignments in a couple of hours. Those assignments where taking pictures of interior rooms and one you had to use available light. You could add light like a strobe if needed. I took pictures of a dinning room and used available light with some strobe. The other assignment was to paint with light in a dark room. I shoot this in my bed room. I used a daylight bulb in a smith-victor light. They both took about 2 hours each to do by my self. My next assignment is to find  a high-rise building that is 7 stories or higher.

Mr. Ramsey taught me how to make a web gallery and post it to my website that I’m in the process of making. I took some pictures of his niece Amanda. I learned how to use strobe outside. I also posted a web gallery from my visit to Red Rock.

For one of my internship assignments for Mr. Ramsey, he sent me to Red Rocks in Morrison CO to take pictures of these beautiful rocks. I’ll have more to come soon!
